Testing innovation where it will eventually be needed: our member organisation NOI Techpark is hosting the South Tyrol Pilot Day from 25th to 26th September, thereby creating a platform on which innovative drone technologies for mountain rescue can be gradually taken from the development stage to practical application.
Mountain rescue organisations, technology developers and research partners are coming together to test new solutions, gather practical experience and define requirements for further development.
The first day will take place at the NOI Techpark. Innovative approaches will be tested in a controlled environment – including those relating to drone transport and joint operations management. In the terraXcube, a mixed-reality drone simulation for avalanche rescue will also be tested under controlled cold conditions.
On the second day, it’s time for a reality check: at the Neves Reservoir, the approaches developed are put to the test in practical exercises under realistic conditions.
The Pilot Day organised by UAV-DACH member NOI Techpark thus serves as a prime example of how innovation can be successfully driven forward: testing, gaining experience, further development and validation under real-world conditions.
For the UAV DACH, this approach is crucial. Technologies can only realise their full potential if they are given sufficient opportunity to be tested and validated under real-world operational conditions.
As an industry association, UAV DACH works at European level to establish appropriate regulatory and operational frameworks for such trials – whilst at the same time facilitating the transition of successful solutions from the test phase to safe and reliable routine operation.
As a member of UAV-DACH, NOI Techpark impressively demonstrates how technology can be turned into practical applications through real-world testing.
