At the joint invitation of Stefan Schnorr (State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport) and Ulrich Lange, MdB (Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport), high-ranking representatives from the aviation industry came together for an “Industry Dialogue on Germany as an Aviation Location”. UAV DACH was represented by CEO Dr. Gerald Wissel and board member Michael Wieland. They presented the perspective of the UAS/AAM industry in the discussions with participants from interest groups such as the Federation of German Industries, the Federal Association of the German Air Transport Industry and the German Airports Association.
The two-hour discussion at the Federal Ministry of Transport focused on how the plans set out in the coalition agreement between the CDU/CSU and SPD to strengthen the German aviation sector could be implemented in practice. In this context, Dr. Gerald Wissel and Michael Wieland pointed out explicitly that a future-oriented aviation strategy can only be successful if manned and unmanned aviation are seen as equal players. This is because both the use and digitalization of airspace can only be organized effectively and in an internationally competitive manner if they work together. Furthermore, the reduction of unnecessary bureaucratic processes and comprehensive technology promotion are crucial to being competitive on a global scale.
The creation of a suitable framework for unmanned aviation in Europe is one of the main objectives of the UAV DACH association. We are therefore working hard to ensure that the concerns of the UAS/AAM industry are heard at a political level and taken into account on a European scale. After all, the equal integration of drones into the airspace is not only of crucial importance for the drone economy, but also an important element for strengthening Europe in these rapidly changing times.
