The equal integration of drones and “air cabs” (eVTOLs) into general airspace is an important task for the future with regard to the establishment of UAS-based business models and the topics of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Contributing to the best possible framework conditions for the Hashtag#drone economy in Europe is a key objective of UAV DACH.
At this point, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is becoming increasingly important. After all, one of the main tasks of this specialized agency of the United Nations is to contribute to safety in civil aviation through harmonization and standardization.
At the first AAM Symposium at ICAO headquarters in Montreal, Canada, from September 9 to 12, 2024, stakeholders from all areas of (unmanned) aviation will come together to discuss best practices, open questions and future challenges regarding UAM and AAM. Under the motto “Advanced air mobility (AAM) global harmonization and interoperability: Challenges and opportunities”, the main focus will be on discussing possible internationally recognized regulatory and technological standards.
As part of the German delegation led by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs, UAV DACH CEO Dr. Gerald Wissel will take part in the deliberations in Montreal and advocate for the legitimate interests of the European drone industry in practicable and economically sustainable regulations and procedures for safe UAS operations and the partnership between manned and unmanned aviation.
Do you have questions and topics that you think should be addressed in Montreal? Then please share them with us.
