Representatives of the European drone economy
Since its foundation in 2000, the Association for Unmanned Aviation has represented the interests of the drone economy in Europe. Members from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands worked together to lay the foundations for UAV DACH to gradually develop into the most important expert association for the European UAS industry.
The basic legislation for the continental drone economy is determined at EU level. For commercial and cross-border UAS operations, the responsibilities of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which also deals with the regulations for the UAS industry and future advanced air mobility, must also be taken into account. International interdependencies and the competitive situation with other regions of the world also play their part in ensuring that a well-networked European UAS industry is in the interests of the entire sector.
UAV DACH organises exchange and networking within the European drone industry and contributes to decision-making within the European drone economy through intensive specialist group work. Through its own initiatives and extensive participation in regulatory and standardisation processes, the interests of its members and the entire industry are safeguarded in an enabling regulatory framework for safe and economically sustainable UAS operations. In this way, the Association for Unmanned Aviation makes a significant contribution to articulating and representing the requirements of the drone industry to the relevant institutions and a pan-European public.
In addition, UAV DACH is committed to creating events and opportunities for information and networking in a variety of ways. The EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM, organised by the Association for Unmanned Aviation, is the most renowned specialist conference for the European UAS industry and a highly valued venue for exchange between regulators, manufacturers and operators. UAV DACH also supports its partners Messe Düsseldorf and the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) in establishing XPONENTIAL Europe as the leading European trade fair for unmanned systems and robotics on land, at sea and, of course, in the air.
