After more than four and a half years as chairman of the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems, Giovanni Di Antonio, Director of Technological Innovation at the Italian Civil Aviation Authority ENAC (Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile), announced his retirement from the JARUS leadership. His successor has now been appointed. Representatives from a total of 73 member organizations elected Dr. Falk G\u00f6tten (photo), Head of the \u201cOperating Licenses\/LUC\u201d section in Department B 5 \u201cUnmanned Aircraft Systems\u201d of the German Federal Aviation Authority, as the new JARUS Chairman.<\/p>\n
The position of deputy chairman has also been filled. Roberto Honorato from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, Ag\u00eancia Nacional de Avia\u00e7\u00e3o Civil) succeeds Catalin Radu (Kazakhstan).<\/p>\n
The Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS) is an international expert committee that develops recommendations for a globally harmonized legal framework and uniform process specifications for safe UAS operation.
