As a strong voice for the European UAS industry, UAV DACH is committed to the safe and economically and ecologically sustainable operation of unmanned aircraft systems. This is because drones not only make all our lives more efficient and safer, but can also contribute in many ways to reducing environmentally harmful emissions.
Cities account for a significant proportion of global CO₂ emissions and energy consumption. Developing and enabling drone-based applications and business models in an urban context therefore not only offers opportunities for social interaction, but can also have a positive impact in the fight against global climate change.
With its call for proposals entitled “Drone-based socio-technical innovations and business models for climate-friendly mobility and sustainable urban and regional development,” the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) aims to support the development of urban and regional drone applications. Funding is available for the design and testing of new possibilities that can bring about “sustainable” change through the innovative integration of UAS technologies, routines, and practices of companies, public authorities, and civil society.
Initial project outlines in electronic form can be submitted until April 1, 2026.
