Competence Group
Design (DSG)
The Competence Group Design focuses on the technical aspects of UAS, particularly for operations in the “open,” “specific,” and “certified” categories. The experts evaluate, comment on, and develop technical requirements, such as the EASA's Operational Safety Objectives (OSOs) and Means of Compliance (MOCs). This competence group is crucial for assessing the practical applicability and economic feasibility of new guidelines and standards from the perspective of the UAS industry. It ensures that UAS are built to meet high safety and innovation standards while keeping production and certification processes economically viable.

Florian serves as the Head of Certification at Wingcopter GmbH, where he oversees global drone certification efforts and ensures compliance with international aviation regulations.
He has extensive experience in autonomous flight and advanced air mobility, having led Volocopter’s autonomous flight development and worked as a researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
Deputy Head
Philipp is a certification and development process specialist at eRC-System GmbH, contributing to the company’s eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) and drone development efforts with a focus on regulatory compliance. He has a background in aerospace research and industry, including roles at AutoflightX and TU Munich, where he worked on the challenges of UAV and eVTOL certification and safety standards
