UAV DACH congratulates Steffen Bilger on his appointment as Federal Minister of Transport and calls upon him to make unmanned aviation and Advanced Air Mobility a visible priority during his term in office.
Germany possesses excellent technological and regulatory foundations but risks losing this lead in the face of international competition. „Unmanned aviation offers Germany the opportunity to play a key role in shaping a rapidly growing, multi-billion-euro global industry. To achieve this, the Advanced Air Mobility Strategy must be consistently implemented, approval processes accelerated, and the Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt) strengthened and equipped with the necessary digital capabilities“, says Dr. Gerald Wissel, Chairman of the Executive Board of UAV DACH – European Association for Unmanned Aviation.
UAV DACH offers Minister Bilger the opportunity for an early personal meeting to discuss the economic potential of commercial UAS operations and the most urgent areas requiring policy action. The common goal must be to translate the technological lead into industrial value creation, high-quality jobs, and new mobility solutions.
