The German Federal Agency for Leap Innovations, based in Leipzig, goes by the name of SPRIND and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. Its mission is to provide agile and proactive support to help innovations make a breakthrough and improve life in Germany.
The search is on for non-destructive, scalable, fully autonomous defence solutions that reliably detect threats, react quickly and neutralize drones without endangering the surrounding airspace or third parties. The aim is not the kinetic destruction of the flight system, but containment through intelligent effects, detour, blockade or other reversible measures. The two-stage SPRIND Funke “Anti-Drone Response” will start on August 15, 2025 and will run for a total duration of just under four months. Participation in the open call is still possible until July 29, 2025 (23:59 CEST):

One of UAV DACH's core objectives is to contribute to the safe, commercially sustainable UAS flight operations of the future and to the development of the European drone economy through networking and information exchange. Following the SPRIND Challenge “Fully Autonomous Flight” last year, the Association for Unmanned Aviation is now also supporting the SPRIND Funke “Anti-Drone Response”. After all, competitions are a good and efficient way to get a step closer to future innovations together.
