Kick-off meeting between LBA and UAV DACH

UAV DACH is committed to shaping the framework conditions for the European drone economy in the interests of its members. In addition to the technical work in the committees, the direct and constant exchange with the responsible regulatory authorities plays an important role. Following an initial meeting of representatives from the Advisory Committee of the Association for Unmanned Aviation and the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA), all participants agreed that this should be the start of a permanent format for discussion and exchange.

The common goal is to regularly exchange information on obstacles and problems relating to both approval procedures and regulatory requirements for UAS operations and to jointly develop possible solutions. At the first meeting, the status quo with regard to application procedures for drone operations in the special category, possible digital solutions and the requirements for commercial UAS operating services for authorities were discussed. The next meeting will focus on the topic of SORA 2.5 and its national implementation.

The European drone economy is very welcome to contact the UAV DACH Competence and Application Groups with specific concerns and topics that should be discussed with the LBA in the context of this round table. The office of the Association for Unmanned Aviation is happy to be the first point of contact.
