Drones in Operation

Medical Support from the Air

In medical emergencies, drones actively help to save lives and increase the chances of recovery. UAS also make a valuable contribution to making the healthcare system more efficient and sustainable. Be it through the accelerated and climate-friendly delivery of tissue samples, medicines and blood reserves or the rapid - and therefore potentially life-saving - transportation of a portable defibrillator or antitoxins, epinephrine and antihistamines in cases of poisoning or allergic shock.

What has already been practiced very successfully in remote regions of Africa for some time has not been more than a prospect in Europe for a long time. Until now. In recent months, regular medical transportation by drone has begun in several places in Germany. For example, around Iserlohn, where a UAS-based transport network between several clinics and a central laboratory has been established with the involvement of the two UAV DACH member companies Morpheus Logistik and HHLA Sky. Urban Ray is also a member of the Association for Unmanned Aviation. The start-up has put a system into operation to connect two locations of Labor Dr. Wisplinghoff with automated drones. In addition, similar activities have been launched by other providers in Baden-Württemberg and Schleswig-Holstein.

Examples like these show how drones can be used for the benefit of all. We will therefore continue to work together with our member companies to establish the best possible framework conditions for commercial UAS operations throughout Europe. In the interests of the UAS/AAM industry. And in the interests of the greatest possible added value for society. #DronesForGood
