UAV DACH in Dialogue With MEP Jan-Christoph Oetjen

As a strong voice of the UAS and AAM industry, UAV DACH is committed to creating suitable framework conditions for the drone economy at European level. One particularly committed supporter of unmanned aviation in the European Parliament is Jan-Christoph Oetjen (2nd from right), the Renew Europe Group's ombudsman for transport policy. At a meeting in Brussels, UAV DACH board members Dr. Gerald Wissel, Oliver Lichtenstein (2nd from left) and Michael Wieland (left) informed the experienced MEP about the association's current initiatives for unmanned aviation as well as the most pressing concerns and most important wishes of the European UAS/AAM industry.

For instance, the UAV DACH representatives emphasized the need for the implementation of European regulations in the individual EU member states to be as harmonized as possible in order to facilitate market access for companies and enable cross-border UAS operations. They also discussed options for how the UAS/AAM industry could be given greater consideration in the establishment of EU funding programs in the future. Oetjen and the UAV DACH board members also exchanged views on how the drone economy as a whole could benefit from increased investment in the field of military and security technologies.
